Moroso Projects is proud to announce, Tom Kha Gai (hot silk), a group exhibition featuring new works by Michael Assiff, Carson Fisk-Vittori, Derek Frech and Izabelle New, opening Friday June 13th. Tom Kha Gai, a traditional Thai soup known for it’s unique and revered combination of flavors, became the inspiration for the exhibition’s curation. Tom Kha Gai (hot silk) adopts the analogy of creating a rich soup as a vehicle to showcase an array of works in the gallery space. Approaching artists’ pieces in a similar manner to how one might approach ingredients, the aim is to bring these individually exciting elements together to create a harmonious greater whole. Painting-esque flat works, sculptural assemblages and mixed media wall works, serving as unknowing allies, will coexist, creating a balanced dialogue between these four artists’ practices. Michael Assiff and Izabelle New are based in New York City and Carson Fisk-Vittori and Derek Frech are based in the Bay Area.
